What does maktown stand for?

Maktown is a play on words. Imagine this: Makell Bird is the supreme leader of any given city, state, or country. That place, which Makell Bird controls, would be referred to as Maktown. Subsequently, if this fictional place had a news network on television and a radio station, they would be referred to as Maktown TV and Maktown Radio. Maktown was also the nickname of McDonough Georgia, the city that Makell Bird lived in circa 1996-2004. There are actually several cities throughout the world nicknamed Mac-town, such as Macon, Georgia. So, the M-A-K in Maktown is taken from the M-A-K in Makell Bird's name.

Maktown exists in many forms

Originally, Maktown Radio was a call-in podcast (of sorts) — hosted on BlogTalkRadio.com, but it didn't last long in that form. Then, sometime in 2009, Makell created a mixtape series called Maktown Radio which focused on showcasing independent, aspiring, up and coming rappers.
